Eligibility Criteria

Candidate must have secured at least 75 per cent aggregate (65 per cent for SC/ST) in Class 12 from a recognised board of education. Candidates in the top 20 percentile in Class 12 are also eligible to apply.

Facilities Available
- The institute hospital is located within the campus, it is located amidst the hostel/residential zone and the academic zone.
- NITT Hospital has casualty, OP & IP facilities, 24 hours fully equipped ambulance, 24 hours pharmacy and a clinical laboratory working during 07:00 a.m. to 09:00 p.m.
- The Institute has a modern Central Library with more than two and a half lakhs of documents consisting of Technical books, reports, standards, CD-ROMS, Audio Visual Educational Cassettes, and back volumes of journals.
- The Security department comprises the Security Officer , three Sergeants and 41 security guards. Most of the security guards are retired defense service personnel.
- The outdoor stadium has a 400M track. The cricket ground here hosts matches for the city league.

College Cons
- For architecture students, very little stationery is available in campus. Major part of it has to be brought from the city which is a tedious job.
- Quite far away from the Trichy city. Travelling to the city takes a lot of time.
- Language may become a problem outside the campus. Localities won't know English.
- NIT Trichy has a very hot climate. You can't walk or cycle for too long.

There is no strict dress code. However, during classes and labs, shorts and sleeveless dresses are strictly not allowed. Lab uniforms and lab shoes are compulsory for the first years.
